Smith & Wesson Model 637
The Smith & Wesson Model 637 is a 5-shot J-frame built with a stainless steel barrel and cylinder and an aluminum alloy frame with an exposed hammer. The standard model weighs only 15.5 ounces. The model 637 has an exposed hammer while the model 640 has no visible hammer, which makes for snagless conceal carry.
This little guy gives you ideal power from a .38 with 158 grain, more than most any other pistol of the same size. Recoil is controllable for the average shooter, but the small grip may be uncomfortable for some shooters. The recoil may be a hair strong for some lady shooters even though the grip is designed for smaller hands.
When compared to other pistols in its class, the Smith & Wesson Model 637 has more punch then most, and greater accuracy than comparable Glocks. Variations on the model offer even lighter weight.
